Material Innovation Institute for Life Sciences and Energy（MILES）

      生命科学与能源材料创新研究院是香港大学在河套深港科技创新合作区成立的一所研究院，拥有约12000平方米的空间， 设有细胞实验室、成像实验室、电池实验室和合成化学实验室、动物实验中心、GMP等若干实验室，为香港大学的教授、博士后、博士生及其它职工等提供最先进的实验室、共享的仪器设备及良好的办公空间。同时，MILES拥有技术转化中心，为创业者们、为科学家们提供将原创科技发明转化为适应市场的有商业价值的新产品和新产业的支持。MILES将聚焦材料科学、能源科学和纳米医学等领域开展尖端科技研发、培养世界一流人才、推动科研成果产业转化，促进粤港澳大湾区新材料、新医药和可再生能源方面的发展与生产，建成世界一流的研究机构。

      Material Innovation Institute for Life Sciences and Energy (MILES) is an HKU institute established in the Hetao Science and Technology Innovation Cooperation Zone.  It has an approximately 12,000 m² space with state-of-the-art laboratories such as Cellular Laboratories, Imaging Laboratories, Battery Laboratories, Synthetic Chemistry Laboratories, Laboratory Animal Center, GMP, etc., and shared instruments and equipment, and good office space for HKU professors, postdoctoral fellows, doctoral students, and staffs. Besides, MILES has a technology translation center that provides support for entrepreneurs and scientists to turn their original innovations into market-fit commercial products. MILES will focus on cutting-edge technology research and development in the fields of materials science, energy science, and nanomedicine, cultivate world-class talents, promote the industrial translation of scientific research achievements, promote the development and production of new materials, new medicine, and renewable energy in the Greater Bay Area, and build a world-class institute.
